Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell are again joined by Atlanta attorney Noah Pines for a rare glimmer of accountability in South Carolina: Judge Carmen Mullen is finally headed to a public disciplinary hearing — not over the Satterfield settlement, but over the night she was recorded trying to get a deputy to arrest a man for the crime of being weird in his own home.
Mandy, Liz, and Noah break down the dash-cam audio, how the ODC process works, and why Georgia’s “Grim Reaper” cleans up its bench while South Carolina’s judges cling to power.
Then: reports that the state grand jury is looking at Yemassee Police Chief Greg Alexander in connection with the Murdaugh murder weapons — plus the $5,000 check Alex Murdaugh wrote him two weeks after the murders, and the greatest denial in Lowcountry history: “I ain’t no cat. I don’t cover up no doo doo.”
