This week marked a surreal and deeply meaningful milestone — the premiere of Murdaugh: Death in the Family AND the Murdaugh: Death in the Family Official Podcast on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
When we started the Murdaugh Murders Podcast from my parent’s kitchen table, I never imagined our reporting would one day inspire a scripted series that brings truth, accountability, and empathy to such a complex story. To see world-class talent like Patricia Arquette, Jason Clarke, Brittany Snow and Alicia Kelley breathe life into their characters is both humbling and emotional.
But here’s the thing: this show — and everything that’s come from it — wouldn’t exist without YOU. Our Premium community believed in us… who supported independent journalism when powerful people tried to silence it. You made it possible for me, Liz, David, and our team to keep shining sunlight in dark places.
As we celebrate this moment, we’re also looking ahead.
This week, we launched something truly special — a series that brings to life years of relentless reporting, emotional truth, and the stories of real victims who deserve to be remembered.
The Murdaugh: Death in the Family Official Podcast is a bridge between truth and art, justice and storytelling.
Seeing the series premiere on Hulu has been surreal, but the podcast companion is where we get to dig even deeper — with behind-the-scenes conversations with the cast, creators, and the people who lived this story. We can’t share more than the first episode on Premium, but you can watch each video episode on Hulu, Disney+ or YouTube. An those extended audio episodes are so rich and full of additional voices you’ll recognize like Sandy Smith, Eric Bland, Mark Tinsley and others.

We‘ve been enjoying Hulu’s “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” Premiere Week! In the words of Mandy “that is a big deal!”
It’s been almost three years since the concept of a Hulu show based on Murdaugh Murders Podcast was formally announced, and it’s FINALLY here. Coincidentally, it’s was also Mandy and David’s third wedding anniversary on premiere day!
We’ve been hard at work for weeks curating Soak Up the Sun premium content to go with each of the 8 episodes. We’re so excited to share behind-the-scenes photos from the show, maps, more audio, timelines, case files, and the original source material that inspired the writers and directors for “Murdaugh: Death in the Family.” We are grateful to our team members for all their help putting together this premium experience for you.
