John-Paul Miller, the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, “pastor” at the center of an FBI investigation launched after the mysterious death of his estranged wife, Mica Francis Miller, in April 2024, stands accused of sexually assaulting another minor in a second lawsuit filed this week in Horry County.
The lawsuit — filed on behalf of “Jane Doe No. 2” — accuses JP Miller of sexually assaulting Jane, who was a 14-year-old student at Cathedral Hall Academy in 1999 where JP Miller was a musician and teacher at the school, which was owned and run by his father, Reginald Wayne Miller.
Wayne Miller — who sometimes spells his name was Reginal Wayne Miller in court documents — also has a history of sexual abuse allegations dating back to the 1980s. According to the Sun News, in 1987 the wives of 2 bible college students accused Wayne Miller of making “sexual advances on their husbands.” In 1989, WPDE broadcast a 5-part series “on Wayne Miller with blurred faces and disguised voices recounting inappropriate advances Miller allegedly made on students at his bible college.”
According to the lawsuit, Jane reported the abuse to the school and was met with punishment, further physical assault and harassment as a result. Two years later, she says she was again sexually assaulted by JP Miller and later physically abused by both him and his father before leaving the school at age 16.
On Friday, attorney Randy Hood of McGowan, Hood, Felder and Phillips law firm in Rock Hill, South Carolina, filed the lawsuit in Horry County on behalf the second Jane Doe. Hood also represents another victim known as Jane Doe No. 1, who says she was just 15 years old when JP Miller raped her at Cathedral Baptist Church, where he was the worship leader. Hood filed a lawsuit against JP Miller, Wayne Miller and their churches on her behalf on Feb. 25.
Like the suit for the first Jane Doe, the second suit names John-Paul Miller, his father (Reginald Wayne Miller), and their churches (All Nations Cathedral Church formerly known as Cathedral Baptist Church of the Grand Strand, Inc., Solid Rock Ministries, Inc.). The second Jane Doe is also suing Cathedral Hall Academy, and Cathedral Bible College.
Allendale attorney Mark Tinsley, who filed a notice of appearance in the first Jane Doe’s case, is also a part of the second Jane Doe’s legal team.

This is now the third formal sexual abuse accusation against John-Paul Miller. The first claim came in the form of Mica’s List — the allegations published from Mica’s diaries and other evidence by Mica’s attorney Regina Ward — JP was accused of demanding Mica have sex with him while she was hospitalized, forcing her perform sexual acts against her will and demanding that she watch him in sexual acts, all while preaching on Sundays that it was Mica’s job as a woman to submit.
The lawsuit for the second Jane Doe says that Jane’s parents enrolled her at Cathedral Hall Academy — the school founded by JP’s father, Reginald Wayne Miller — in the fall of 1999. During that semester, the second Jane Doe says JP Miller — who was 20 at the time — sexually assaulted her after asking her to play the piano with him when everyone left the chapel following a service.

The complaint goes on to say that she reported the incident to another teacher, who sent her to Wayne Miller’s office. When the second Jane Doe told Wayne Miller what happened, he reportedly yelled at her and forced her to write “I will not lie about John-Paul Miller” 5,000 times.
According to the lawsuit, the second Jane Doe was bullied and physically assaulted by other students at the urging of JP and Wayne after she disclosed the abuse. Those incidents allegedly included being called “a liar, a whore, and a slut” as well as being shoved into a bathroom stall, and another time when the suit says the second Jane Doe’s arms were restrained behind her back while another girl “ripped open her shirt and stuffed tissues into her bra.”
The suit then says, “JPM (supposedly the teacher) was present and laughed.”
Two years later, in 2001, JP Miller allegedly sexually assaulted the second Jane Doe again after telling her she’d failed a test and keeping her after class under the guise of offering her “extra help.”
Uncertified Teachers and Crumbling Infrastructure
The second Jane Doe suit also paints a grim photo of the Christian school that touted itself as an affordable faith-based education.
According to the lawsuit, the teachers weren’t certified and there was “no legitimate coursework, and no structured academics.” The buildings were also in disrepair, according to the suit, and the classrooms were in a repurposed bowling alley with slick and uneven floors.
The property Wayne Miller purchased in the mid 1990s to use as his bible college, school, and church was originally part of an abandoned Air Force Base. In addition to the church building at 803 Howard Avenue, Miller had control of a handful of other parcels in the area that he was eventually forced to sell.

The second Jane Doe is asking for a jury to determine what damages she is entitled to.
