I’m making a Happy Friday card for Savannah gas station mogul (and billion-dollar finger-crosser) Greg Parker & his DOOFUS attorney Mark Moore
! I’m trying to decide which image would convey my sentiments more …. hmm.
I’ll decide later. In the meantime…It’s been a long time since we’ve had this much action in the Mallory Beach civil conspiracy case … the case that was born from Paul Murdaugh’s 2019 boat crash in which Mallory was killed. That’s like a convenience store’s worth of alcohol in that cooler! One of the defendants in the boat crash case was Greg Parker of Parker’s Convenience Store chain. Parker’s is where Paul Murdaugh illegally purchased alcohol earlier that evening.
The lawsuit was CONTENTIOUS (and at the root of Alex Murdaugh’s decision to murder his wife Maggie and their son Paul). The case also resulted in intense, prolonged and seemingly coordinated social media bullying and counter messaging from (mostly) unknown sources.
In 2021 (after the murders when the entire world was watching the South Carolina Lowcountry), a documentary company produced a trailer for a planned series on the Murdaugh family. In that trailer they used confidential court materials related to the boat crash case (including a photo of Mallory Beach’s dead body on the day she was finally found in a Beaufort tidal creek).
There were 2 issues there for the Beach family: 1. Some of the materials in the video came from confidential files related to the mediation in the boat crash case and 2. Their release seemed to be connected to the ongoing social media bullying and seemingly coordinated campaign online to weaken the Beach family’s resolve in pursuing the case …
So in 2021, Mark Tinsley filed the “civil conspiracy” lawsuit against Greg Parker and a bevy of alleged co-conspirators. The lawsuit accuses Parker of using his significant resources to attack and harass the Beach family to get them to back off the lawsuit — in part, by allegedly leaking these confidential materials …

Parker’s Kitchen ultimately settled with the boat crash victims for $15 million last fall. But the civil conspiracy case continues and — not shockingly — has been even more contentious than the original case it stemmed from. Greg Parker denies all allegations. Oh! MY HAPPY FRIDAY MESSAGE
Over the past few years, Greg Parker and his legal team — led by Russell Laffitte’s lawyer Mark Moore — have used just about every trick they can think of to prevent Greg’s alleged co-conspirators from providing evidence, from talking and from saying who hired them …
They have tried to get Mark Tinsley REMOVED as the Beach family’s attorney. They’ve asked to have the case DISMISSED. And they’ve asked the court to DELAY discovery (ie. handing over materials that the Beach family believes will show a trail of harassment orders leading back to Greg Parker) …
On Friday, Judge R. Keith Kelly (real name), DENIED Greg Parker’s motions to have Mark Tinsley removed, to have the case dismissed and to stop discovery. It’s a BIG WIN for the Beach family. MORE THAN THAT …
Judge R. Kelly also DENIED the Beach family’s motion to reconsider Judge Bentley Price’s rulings on barring certain public relations/countermessaging materials produced as part Greg Parker’s alleged campaign of harassment against the family …
And MORE THAN THAT … on Thursday, the Beach family’s legal team — Mark Tinsley and Tabor Vaux — filed a motion asking Judge R. Kelly to compel two Private Detectives who are alleged to have been hired by or on behalf of Greg Parker (to allegedly leak the confidential material to the press) to tell the court WHO hired them and WHAT they were asked to do …
On Friday, Judge R. Kelly granted the Beach family’s motion and now the private investigators have 30 days to cough up that information …
