Who Is Under The Bus In Horry County? + Hulu Casting News on Girl Talk And Emily Limehouse Presser

Happy Easter Sunday!
Per usual, so much has happened in the last week and it’s a bit dizzying to keep track of all the twists and unexpected turns.
On the Hulu front, Deadline announced that Noah Emmerich (The Americans), Kathleen Wilhoite (Yellowstone) & Tommy Dewey (Saturday Night) joined the ‘Murdaugh Murders’ Hulu Series in the roles of Randy Murdaugh, Gloria Satterfield and Mark Tinsley respectively. These three are just a few more of the wildly talented actors lending their skills to bring this project to life with so many more announcements on the way…
Who do you think should play some of the other roles? Let us know your theories by joining us for our Pesky Picks Q&A recording this Thursday, April 24th at 7pm ET. Email [email protected] to RSVP and join the recording!
The scale of this project is massive and we are so excited for y’all to be part of it by supporting our mission!
I was also pleasantly surprised this week to learn that US News and World Report featured me among the true crime GREATS (Keith Morrison and Michelle McNamara, WHAT?!?) for their article on where “true crime experts” went to college.
Thank you Helen Lewis for the nod! And I’m SO PROUD @universityofkansas is on that list. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
In 2023, we looked at a case outside of Nashville, Tennessee, in which Angie Solomon was fighting for justice for her 18-year-old son, Grant Solomon — who was killed under unusual circumstances in 2020 — and Gracie Solomon who accused her father Aaron of molesting her according to her social media and court records.
On Friday, April 11th, Angie Solomon was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee and charged with soliciting an undercover police detective to murder her ex-husband Aaron Solomon. Needless to say, the Internet is SUSPICIOUS of her arrest. Just as we were in the middle of recording Cup of Justice #126 about how important it is NOT to jump to conclusions, we got the warrant for Angie’s arrest and … well, it’s suspicious. Or rather, there are A LOT of questions it raises, including the one everyone’s been asking: Was Angie Solomon set up?
But speaking of set ups… we are now receiving a FLOOD of evidence on the very concerning Scott Spivey situation in Horry County, SC. Last week, Horry County elected officials and administrators were urging Governor McMaster and SLED to reopen contentious 2023 shooting case. It is extremely rare to see county officials openly criticize their own police agencies and even go so far as to criticize state law enforcement (even as respectfully crafted as those letters were). The justice bus is headed for Horry County and it seems like public officials and agencies are clamoring to throw each other under it…
We also learned in the middle of recording COJ that Russell Laffitte intended to plead guilty in federal court, which he did on Friday, April 18, in a negotiated sentence of 60 months with credit for time served, $3.55 million in restitution, and $85k in fines and fees. Guys, I have been DREADING this stupid trial and I’m so happy Alex Murdaugh’s Doofus BFF FINALLY admitted defeat!!!! You can see Emily Limehouse deliver remarks to our amazing videographer Ben Hough from this YouTube link.
Check out COJ #126, True Sunlight #96 and our episodes this week for details on closing the book on Russell Laffitte, all the alleged corruption in Horry County (with some pretty jaw-dropping audio we just received), plus Lee Gilley’s and Angie Solomon’s upcoming arraignments, both occurring on Tuesday April 29th…
And we’d love to get your questions for our Pesky Picks Q&A discussion this Thursday, April 24th at 7pm ET featuring our discussion of the Righteous Gemstones on Max. If you can’t join us, you can catch the recap when we publish the audio episode on the Premium feed.
As always, your support is immensely appreciated and keeps us motivated to expose the truth wherever it leads, give voice to victims and get the story straight.
Stay Tuned, Stay Pesky and Stay In The Sunlight…
