Buster And/Or Randy Murdaugh Claim To Have Details on Stephen Smith…?

As many of you may have listened already on last week’s Cup of Justice #124, we are diving deep into Buster Murdaugh’s latest filing in his federal defamation case — specifically, the part of the memo that indicates Buster has depositions from people who have personal knowledge of the events that led to Stephen Smith’s death in July 2015 … along with the origins of the rumor that Buster was somehow involved. What do those depositions say? Has he shared them with SLED? And did you hear how Liz and I were left speechless when Eric told us that RANDY MURDAUGH called him on March 27th to share information about an alleged source who contacted him about Stephen’s case… uhh what???
In Buster’s newly filed Federal Amended Complaint, he’s claiming documentaries falsely linked him to Stephen’s death by portraying his family as “sinister, depraved, and menacing” with “improper influence”. And he’s claiming he has evidence that will prove his innocence to achieve the ‘preponderance of the evidence’ standard necessary to win the day in front of a jury or force the companies to settle. I’m just happy that Sandy might actually get some answers…

But I think the highlight of my week, came from MAJOR updates in our ‘Murdaugh Murders’ scripted series for Hulu. It started with an announcement from Deadline on Johnny Berchtold and Will Harrisson cast as Paul Murdaugh and Buster Murdaugh respectively. And I am overjoyed in all the ways having met Johnny on set and seen his dedication to providing a respectful and accurate portrayal. And a bird told me yesterday that a VERY SPECIAL CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT (IYKYK) will be coming next week so I am on pins and needles waiting for that news to drop officially. Its wild y’all and I want you to be here for it with me!
Then DEUXMOI on instagram published first-look images of Jason Clarke as Alex Murdaugh. TMZ also published the images and of course I had to share on social too. The response we got was fear, shock, excitement and so much more. It was surreal to see Johnny and Jason on set in March diving so passionately into their Paul Murdaugh and Alex Murdaugh characters… Together with Patricia Arquette, the fleet of wildly talented cast and crew plus all the filmmakers, take this project so incredibly seriously as they believe in telling the victims stories versus exploiting them.
I thank our lucky stars (and David!) that we made the right decisions to avoid the documentary groups currently getting sued for their characterization of Buster and pursued this scripted series with Erin Lee Carr and Michael Fuller who have a dedication to getting the story straight while bringing this show to life. I believe that MMP will stand as the foremost reporting on the truth while this scripted series will create the strongest emotional connections the world has to the victims in these cases. These real events are described with dramatic interpretation allowing for certain creative liberties to enrich the experience, and our reporting acts as the factual foundation to build trust in the narrative… It’s going to be
We’re headed back to the set in Atlanta at the end of April and filming continues through June so there will be so many more updates I cannot wait to share and amplify with our LUNASHARK Premium Community.
