Are You Ready For It??? The Murdaugh Saga's "Emotional Truth" Hitting Hulu This Fall!

As mentioned on recent podcasts, we are gearing up for a VERY busy fall with the release of Hulu’s scripted series based our 93 episodes of the Murdaugh Murders Podcast.
We know that this series will stir up a lot of the people still working in the shadows on behalf of Team Murdaugh and the Good Ole’ Boy network that wants to keep business as usual where a two-tiered system of justice benefits just a small group of terrible people. We also know that those hideous, hateful and cowardly trolls will refocus their attention our way for whatever transgressions they invent in their mind to justify their anger toward me and our team.
While David and I contributed knowledge, reference material and insight as Executive Producers for this project, the creative decisions were the purview of Co-Creators Michael D. Fuller (also Showrunner) and Erin Lee Carr (also Director and writer). We put our trust in their wildly talented team, Universal as the Studio, and Hulu (now Disney) as the Network to bring a version of the truth to life.
What we learned from observing the Writers Room, being on set, and interacting with the production professionals is that this upcoming show will showcase a heap of artistic talent… from the first scene to the last scene Patricia Arquette, Jason Clark, Brittany Snow, Johnny Berchtold, Alicia Kelley, Will Harrisson and the rest of cast shine in their portrayals.
We also took immense delight in watching the process that focuses 230 hours of our published reporting on MMP and COJ plus countless documents, testimony and research into 8 episodes of drama, shock, awe, tears, laughs and so much more. But it is just a version of the truth… we are calling it “The Emotional Truth”.
While I stand by each element of my reporting, the scripted show will bring to life elements of the Murdaugh saga that no one actually knows about or really could know about. The show is generous to characters based on real people that the real media had ignored, been unkind to, or even outright defamed (allegedly). I found myself surprised watching scene after scene where I looked at a character differently or empathized with a plight that I may not have thought about during the fury of reporting on the actual people living these events.
The themes of each episode color the truth with humanity and helps to explain the why’s and who’s while our reporting focused on the where’s, when’s, what’s and how’s. Its truly remarkable how they made decisions that make the story digestible, and way more understandable… because this case IS complicated.
Even though certain parts and people didn’t make the cut into the show due to operational restraints, narrative limitations, or studio/network decisions, we support their creative manifestation 100%. IT IS SOOOO GOOD!! And we know you’ll be dazzled right there along with us.
All that to say, there is so much to talk about when it comes to reliving the Murdaugh Saga with Hulu this fall. And for that, we have A LOT to share.

With Amanda as Executive Producer, this new show centers on Amanda Knox's harrowing journey after being wrongfully imprisoned for her roommate's murder, her battle to prove her innocence and regain her freedom.
We’ll be watching this release closely as its final episode will likely premiere just before our Hulu show begins to drop.
