Liza's Lifeline Receives New Vehicle To Support Victims Of Violence

Happy Sunday Premium Members!
If you live near Charleston, its possible that you read the recent article on Liza’s Lifeline from the Holy City Sinner.

Liza’s Lifeline is committed to empowering domestic violence victims, and their families through financial assistance, education, and advocacy. By fostering social change and providing vital resources, they aim to break the cycle of abuse and bring hope to those in need.
Since obtaining 501(c)(3) public charity status on June 16, 2008, Liza’s Lifeline has become a beacon of hope, offering resources, education, and advocacy to victims, their families, and their pets. Together, they strive to create a world where no one has to suffer in silence.
I was fortunate to meet the president of Liza’s Lifeline, Susie Ash, at the Walking With Stephen event in July and was so inspired by her commitment to helping women escape violence they are trapped in. Susie’s career has been on the front lines of domestic violence prevention.
Instead of traditional grant-funding, Liza’s Lifeline relies on individual donations and the sale of custom-designed bronze and silver charms. I wore my charm necklace in my recent photoshoot and you can purchase your Liza’s Lifeline Charms here.
By declining grant funding which can put so many restrictions on the recipient organization, Liza’s Lifeline and Susie orchestrate a network of resources to provide immediate response to those in need. Like cash, plane tickets, and now for the very first time… vehicles used as props in a Hulu limited series based on our #1 Global Hit Podcast…

Yes… my car, the one I’ve had since 2013 and recently lent to the Hulu show for filming was gifted to Liza’s Lifeline today and it will be rehomed to a recipient in need of transportation as they start a new life for themselves away from their abuser.
Back in May, we asked our audience on social media to suggest charitable causes for which we could donate the car and we received some fantastic information about groups and organizations all over the country. From this request, I found Liza’s Lifeline and immediately became a staunch supporter of their mission and flexible resource deployment methods.
As the Holy City Sinner article notes… in addition to direct aid, Liza’s Lifeline plays a key role in policy advocacy. The organization supported South Carolina House Bill 3569, which allows survivors of domestic violence to break their leases without penalty.
On Cup of Justice #139 we discussed some of the horrible legislation and legislators floating through congressional buildings across the country… I believe in supporting the folks who are actually putting in the work to protect LIVES of women.
From True Sunlight #109 last week we know that certain public officials might have significant financial incentives to KEEP constituents UNSAFE in order to profit from the chaos.
We learned from our coverage of the tragic deaths of Maggie Murdaugh, Mica Francis, Sara-Lynn Moore Colucci and Christina Bauer Gilley, that leaving a relationship too late can have tragic consequences. Susie and her group stand watch to prevent violence against women and we are proud to stand with them.

Next week we have a TON of content to share including our Pesky Pick Q & A bonus episode focusing on The Woman They Could Not Silence: one woman, her incredible fight for freedom, and the men who tried to make her disappear by Kate Moore… with Special Guest: Kate Moore!!!
Author Kate Moore will join us for Cup of Justice this week AND we’ll dive deeper into her phenomenal and infuriating non-fiction book into the life of Elizabeth Packard. Elizabeth was an ordinary Victorian housewife and mother of six. That was, until the first Woman’s Rights Convention was held in 1848, inspiring Elizabeth and many other women to dream of greater freedoms. She began voicing her opinions on politics and religion ― opinions that her husband did not share. Incensed and deeply threatened by her growing independence, he had her declared ‘slightly insane’ and committed to an asylum.
We are also excited to present a Premium Dive series on Plea Deals from Sam Berlin, new details on the Scott Spivey case in True Sunlight and so much more!!!

As always, your support is immensely appreciated and keeps us motivated to expose the truth wherever it leads, give voice to victims and get the story straight.
