That’s A Wrap! A HUGE Thank You To You All As We Celebrated the Murdaugh Production with Fans & Stars!
Happy Monday and That’s A Wrap!!!
It has been a long road since we decided in 2021 to collaborate with Universal Content Productions on the scripted Murdaugh show. We didn’t know all the nuts and bolts of what goes into producing a TV show, but we did know that the co-creators Michael D. Fuller and Erin Lee Carr would build it from the ground up with cardinal appreciation for respecting the victims, amplifying the truth and connecting audiences to the story emotionally with “literary ease” where necessary.
Yesterday, we gathered at the hippest venue Flight Club ATL with about 200+ of the cast and crew to celebrate successes, socialize and share appreciation for everyone’s time and talent lent to the production.
While the event was private, we had the privilege of inviting some amazing fans and LUNASHARK Premium members…. Thank you Gini T., Sachin S., Jodi A., Meredith B, Lorie S. Carrie H., and Tyler N. for joining and sharing in our celebrations. It was so special for me to welcome some of our biggest supporters and experience this insider event together.
I had the pleasure of finally meeting some of the folks who are normally too busy, too focused or out of reach which added to the unbelievable nature of the event. I was able to thank the legendary Patricia Arquette, playing Maggie Murdaugh, and hug the phenomenally talented Kathleen Wilhoite, playing Gloria Satterfield, among so many other stars in attendance. It was surreal, but so incredible to be able to interact with the people brining the production to life.
But the main event was orchestrated by our dynamic duo leading the project…Director Erin Lee Carr (ELC) and Showrunner Michael D. Fuller (MDF). So much of the show’s crew is an expert in a siloed function like lighting, gaffing, sound, photography etc, but perhaps separated from the work of others. It was during ELC and Michael’s comments that we were treated to a viewing of some selected scenes and y’all…. OMG!
The artistry, workmanship, attention to details, the acting, the emotion, the humor, the levity, the seriousness, and the gravity left all our jaws on the floor. It was laugh out loud funny at appropriate times, so deeply sad in others, frighteningly jarring at others still. David and I were visibly shaken and speechless, but not for long. ELC and MDF both shared their sentiments and invited me do do the same… but since I’m not much for public speaking David spoke in my stead and we’ll share that audio later this week.
We have an amazing Cup of Justice to share tonight where Eric, Liz and I tackle recent experiences with American healthcare system inefficiencies, bond system flaws, and a COJ wouldn’t be complete without some commentary on police misconduct. We also chat about the Nathan Cureton case where a violent offender was released on bond and almost immediately kidnapped a woman, murdered her then killed himself. We’ll also discuss the Spivey case and how the frivolous lawsuit I was dismissed from has reared its ugly head once again… And registration is now open at the discounted $10.00 fee for our Walking With Stephen memorial event planned for July 12th, 2025. It will soon be 10 years since Stephen’s unsolved homicide and we are going to remind everyone in Hampton, SC that Sandy’s quest for answers will not be silenced.
