Dreams Come True With Julie K. Brown + ATL and Enablers Exposed

Happy Sunday!
So much happened last week in the latest ‘Pastor Disasters’ and the path of destruction in the wake of Wayne Miller and JP Miller… allegedly.
True Sunlight #91 takes us back to 1989 when WPDE investigated Wayne Miller’s alleged sexual misconduct in a five part series. While Sinclair Broadcasting and WPDE said they no longer had the footage from this series, a dogged Beth Braden tracked down the first episode.
Sinclair estimated it could cost us $15,600 to license four minutes of audio and video. While we understand and respect their legal right to do so, we also think we have a good case here to employ the fair use doctrine. Fair use allows media companies to use clips from the copyrighted material in a limited way without the copyright holder’s permission to report on or offer commentary on.
Upon reviewing our options (and notes from our Intellectual Property experts at Lloyd & Mousilli), we believed it best to just read the transcripts. So we hope you liked our descriptions and David’s recitations. We also shared the original footage with WPDE and Sinclair Broadcasting and hope they choose to rebroadcast the footage as part of Gianna Forbis’ ongoing coverage. Feel free to suggest the same to [email protected].
Needless to say, this alleged behavior of JP Miller, Wayne Miller and their churchy-businesses are not new… Rather, they have been emboldened by enablers for decades.
AND THAT IS A BIG DEAL!!!!
Because another disaster named Bowen Turner just had another hearing about his behavior and we are thankful to concerned citizens who seem to be doing the job of parole officers, police officers and our South Carolina Department of Corrections.
Yesterday, (and thankfully) we learned that Bowen Turner will spend another year in prison after violating probation for the THIRD TIME in Orangeburg South Carolina earlier this year.
Last month, thrice-accused rapist Bowen Turner was arrested after he was caught day-drinking at a municipal golf course and a very brave woman turned him in.
SCDC officials ordered 22-year-old Turner to return to SCDC for one year after holding TWO hearings on the matter (which we will talk about in True Sunlight Next Week).
“The hearing official recommended Turner return to SCDC and receive intensive addiction treatment while incarcerated,” an SCDC spokesperson said Thursday. “The recommendation was accepted by the SCDC Intensive Supervision Administrative Review Authority today.”
SO… this is slightly good news because I would MUCH RATHER be reporting this than another woman getting hurt because of this man.
How did we get here with Bowen? Well….He was accused of raping 3 different girls between 2018-2019. He hired State Senator Brad Hutto to get him out of those charges and he essentially did in 2022 with the help of Judge Markley Dennis and Solicitor David Miller.
Bowen was sentenced to PROBATION for the sexual assaults. And he has violated that probation THREE TIMES.
So once again, SHAME on every person who got us here wondering who will be the next victim. And THANK YOU to every person who took this seriously.
There is of course WAY more to this story so stay tuned for details in episode 92 of True Sunlight!
AND!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!
In the world of investigative journalism, some stories change everything. And Friday, we sat down with a journalist who did just that.
Julie K. Brown didn’t just write a story about Jeffrey Epstein. She rewrote the entire narrative of how we understand power, abuse, and justice.
Her reporting for the Miami Herald didn’t just expose a predator – it gave a voice to dozens of survivors who had been silenced for decades.
On Cup of Justice next week, we’re diving deep with the woman who proved that persistent, fearless, PESKY journalism can actually change the world. Check out her book, and social pages below!
As always, your support is immensely appreciated and keeps us motivated to expose the truth wherever it leads, give voice to victims and get the story straight.
Stay Tuned, Stay Pesky and Stay In The Sunlight…
