Rested And Ready For Two New Episodes Featuring Actor Valyn Hall And An Explosive True Sunlight Podcast!

Happy Sunday!!!

We are forever thankful for this week to regroup,  recharge and celebrate 100 episodes of True Sunlight Podcast.  And the best part is that we’re ready to research, record and produce at least 100 more.

Your financial support is so incredibly appreciated and we take our responsibility to honor our service promises seriously.  So much so that many on our team wanted to press on with True Sunlight this week because we know y’all integrate drops into your schedules and look forward to the content.   We are grateful for that space in your lives and also constantly impressed with your listenership and vocal amplification which demonstrates to public agencies that they will be held accountable for violating public trust.

We also know that you (and we) expect a certain caliber of reporting, in depth coverage, and high-function context. That is what sets us apart and why many of you tell us you’re with us.

We appreciate the support y’all shared this week so we can rest our brains and avoid burnout—a very real and dangerous occurrence that often leads news organizations into patterns of click bait, non-news, access journalism and worse.  I cannot imagine still being part of a newsroom where Private Equity owners force reporters into quotas of reporting on at least 6 breaking news stories daily – and yes, that’s a thing.  I’m sure you’re wondering… what happens if 6 breaking news stories don’t exist? Well, that’s when we devolve into sensationalizing non-news like a town’s ugliest dogs, avoiding the work necessary to uncover where crime meets corruption, and pitting one group against another to enrage and divide.  That is not what we do here at LUNASHARK and not what y’all signed up for.

We appreciate the grace you shared this week, the supportive comments on social media and all the emails expressing your appreciation for what our small team is able to accomplish week after week, month after month, 100 episodes after 100 episodes!

And speaking of grace, through your valued support, we are able to welcome a new member of our team this week… Soon you’ll be introduced to the research and reporting of a new contributor to our mission, Grace Hills, based in my home state of Kansas.  Grace is helping us with research, reporting, social media, audio production, trial coverage and likely much more. Grace studied journalism and political science at the University of Kansas, but also brings significant reporting experience from the Kansas Reflector covering the state legislative beat.

Grace is eager to join the team and expand coverage of the Spivey, Bauer Gilley, Smith, Francis, Solomon and Colucci matters in the coming months.

Michael Colucci’s retrial alleging he murdered his wife Sarah Lynn Moore-Colucci is expected to commence on June 16th, 2025 — lasting two weeks — and we expect permission to broadcast the trial live with Soak Up The Sun members. All members will get access to the trial coverage shortly after the conclusion of court.  We also plan to utilize a new feature publishing live audio of the trial on a podcast feed and producing daily trial audio episodes for the general public.  Plus, all the context and analysis on Cup of Justice and True Sunlight podcasts.

I am so excited to be back this week with TWO RIGHTEOUS Episodes of Pesky Picks Q&A and Cup of Justice!! Both will feature the incomparable Valyn Hall who plays Aunt Tiffany on The Righteous Gemstones… one of my favorite shows and hands down one of my favorite scripted characters.  Liz and I sat down with Valyn on COJ to talk about her experiences filming the show in South Carolina, her thoughts on the portrayal of Southern culture in media, and her affection for her hometown of Atlanta—where we are about to wrap filming our own scripted series this June.  We also talk about growth of the film industry in the Southeast and the sometimes-unpleasant online interactions actors receive.

And Pesky Picks set to publish Wednesday morning where Valyn discusses her career path, her previous career in hair and makeup, and the challenges of TV filming in Charleston, South Carolina, particularly the extreme heat and local wildlife. She also shares insights into her character, her favorite scenes to film and the dedication and hard work of the show’s crew.

If you have messaged me about a new case this week, we will do our best to keep exposing the truth in as many cases as we can handle — so stay tuned and Stay Pesky.

As always, your support is immensely appreciated and keeps us motivated to expose the truth wherever it leads, give voice to victims and get the story straight.

Stay Tuned, Stay Pesky and Stay In The Sunlight…
