Status: POSTPONED — No new trial date set

Lee Gilley (SPN: 03260756) is charged with capital murder in the deaths of his wife, Christa Bauer Gilley, and their unborn child on October 7, 2024. The case (CN: 18887120101-03) is assigned to the Harris County 497th Criminal Court.

Case Timeline: Trial was originally noticed for February 23, 2025, at 9:00 AM. On May 4, 2026, Gilley allegedly violated his bond conditions and fled the country, traveling first to Canada and then to Italy, where he is currently held in a Turin prison and has requested asylum.

UPDATE (June 2026): The capital murder trial that was rescheduled to begin June 5, 2026, has been cancelled by Judge Peyton Peebles. No new trial date has been set, pending resolution of extradition proceedings.
